Lloyd Whiting: A Legacy Carved Through Generations

The Whiting lineage, steeped in the sawdust of history, has been a cornerstone of the Kenora region since 1880, when Samuel Whiting, a visionary from England, laid the foundation of their first sawmill on Treaty Island. This pioneering spirit, coupled with a deep connection to the land, has been passed down through every Whiting generation, culminating in Lloyd Whiting. As our current Mill Manager, Loyd embodies the essence of our heritage. As a journeyman carpenter with a diploma in forestry and over 40 years in the construction industry, Loyd’s passion lies in transforming raw logs into exquisite boards and timbers, a testament to the artistry embedded in our DNA.
